Bereavement Support Sessions to begin on February 1

The Seniors Resource Centre of NL will be offering a 6 week Bereavement Support Group starting February 1. Please contact the centre for further information

Each group is led by a professional experienced in helping people deal with loss

Size of group varies - 8 persons maximum

Sessions will run from 1:30-3 p.m.

All group sessions are held at the Seniors Resource Centre NL St. John's Office
located at 370 Torbay Road ( Bally Rou Place- entrance off Torbay Road Plaza parking lo

Both sessions take place at Sobey’s Community Room, Torbay Plaza 7:30 pm – 9 pm.

If you are living outside the St.John's or Mount Pearl Area, please contact us for other similar services that may be in your area.

The format of the group depends on the needs of members who attend. It is not a therapy group, is not based on a particular disease or affiliated with a particular care facility and is not just for seniors.

Our Caregiver Conversations session offers you:

A short break from the caregiver role.
A place where in a supportive but confidential atmosphere, you can talk to others who will take the time to listen, understand and share thoughts, feelings and concerns experienced by all Caregivers.
A place where you will not be judged but be given support by others who have been there and may assist you to find your way.
A place where you can learn about such issues as stress management, nutrition, and back care as well as other supports and services available in the community.
A place where through sharing with others, the importance of you role as a Caregiver is affirmed.

Caregiver’s Respite Centre - offered by Mount Pearl Seniors Independence Group. It is held the last Monday of each month in the Legion Room, Park Place for unpaid caregivers over 50 who provide care to a love one or friend.
