Caregiver Support Groups

Sessions are held on the third Monday of every month at 7:30pm at Sobeys Community Room on Merrymeeting Road. In the event that day is a holiday, it will be the following Monday. Please Contact the Centre for more information

Our Caregiver Support Group meets once a month, for two hours beginning at 7:30pm in the evening. The format of the group depends on the needs of members who attend. Our Caregiver Support Group is not a therapy group, is not based on a particular disease or affiliated with a particular care facility and is not just for seniors.

Our Caregiver Support Group offers you:

  • A short break from the caregiver role.

  • A place where in a supportive but confidential atmosphere, you can talk to others who will take the time to listen, understand and share thoughts, feelings and concerns experienced by all Caregivers.

  • A place where you will not be judged but be given support by others who have been there and may assist you to find your way.

  • A place where you can learn about such issues as stress management, nutrition, and back care as well as other supports and services available in the community.

  • A place where through sharing with others, the importance of you role as a Caregiver is affirmed.
