  • Meeting with seniors in rural areas

Project Goals

  1. To build an Advisory Committee to provide the project with direction and insight

  2. To deliver a Conference about Type 2 Diabetes for the "volunteer seniors" of the province

  3. To raise awareness within the older adult population about the risks of Type 2 Diabetes in the six regions of the province

  4. To identify older adults with low-level literacy in order to provide them with information about Type 2 Diabetes

  5. To help seniors understand the benefits of increased physical activity and healthy diets in the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes

  6. To create working groups in each region through the project partners and interested communities, to continue to promote diabetes prevention and healthy active living
